Mojave Resort

This was an interesting project and challenging, as it was a budget-conscious endeavor. Zayda Braun Designs was initially contracted solely to obtain permits for the remodel, but the scope quickly expanded. As various team members left the project, Zayda Braun Designs stepped in to handle pool deck renovation, landscape design, interior design, and more. Mid-century modern decor was kept in its original form. The 1958 structures are composed of single-framed walls and low pitched roofs with exposed rafters and low-profile fascias. Two “L” shaped buildings enclose a courtyard with a “martini shaker shape” pool. The exterior colors were kept original with warm white walls and colorful orange fascia and doors that characterize the era. The interiors were kept more “airy” with warm white colors and accent walls. The white colors give the rooms a feel of bigger space and height. The idea was to keep the same vintage look so most of the existing furniture was kept original but refinished.
